Coldstream Hills prides itself for having access to many of the best vineyards in the Yarra Valley. These sites are found throughout the upper and lower Yarra Valley with each vineyard providing a range of unique characteristics to the wines.
Back in the late 1980s, James Halliday introduced single vineyard wines to Coldstream Hills demonstrating their unique sense of place. The tradition has continued with the on-going release of the Single Vineyard range. Located in the south-eastern corner of the Yarra Valley, the Beenak Vineyard epitomises cool climate viticulture delivering wines of precision and finesse.

Aromatic notes of grapefruit and lime pith are infused with subtle white florals and nougat. Mineral quartz slate and subtle French oak add complexity and spice.
Pure and linear, the palate finishes with crystalline acidity and fine chalky phenolics. Aromatic citrus notes are at the fore with seamless oak, mineral and nougat adding layers and complexity. A wine that will cellar well.
Cooler than Bordeaux yet warmer than Burgundy, picturesque Yarra Valley is one of Australia's foremost cool-climate wine regions. An easy one-hour’s drive from Melbourne, the area is home to more than 80 cellar doors. In addition to the huge range of wineries, the area boasts superb contemporary restaurants, authentic rustic farms - and luxury overnight accommodation if the sightseeing gets too much! The fertile Yarra Valley soils produce famously elegant and textured Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
A warm start to the growing season with below average rainfall which continued through into the summer months. Temperatures remained consistently above average leading to one of the earliest harvests in recent times. The wines produced reflect the season with generosity and depth of flavour.
