Coldstream Hills prides itself for having access to many of the best vineyards in the Yarra Valley. These sites are found throughout the upper and lower Yarra Valley with each vineyard providing a range of unique characteristics to the wines.
Back in the late 1980s, James Halliday introduced single vineyard wines to Coldstream Hills demonstrating their unique sense of place. The tradition has continued with the release of the Single Vineyard range.
Located near Gladysdale in the cool Upper Yarra, the picturesque Deer Farm Vineyard is renowned for its high quality and style.

Vibrant citrus pith notes emanate, with attractive white florals, nougat and a fine core of cordite mineral reduction. Grilled nut barrel fermentation notes and subtle French oak add layers and complexity.
Elegantly framed, yet expansive with texture, generosity and beautifully balanced acidity. Citrus and stonefruit notes are at the fore with underlying mineral slate, nougat and seamless French oak. A wine that will age gracefully in the cellar.
Cooler than Bordeaux yet warmer than Burgundy, picturesque Yarra Valley is one of Australia's foremost cool-climate wine regions. An easy one-hour’s drive from Melbourne, the area is home to more than 80 cellar doors. The fertile Yarra Valley soils produce famously elegant and textured Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
A warm start to the growing season with below average rainfall which continued through into the summer months. Temperatures remained consistently above average leading to one of the earliest harvests in recent times. The wines produced reflect the season with generosity and depth of flavour.
